Appco Group Asia hosts annual rest and relaxation event

The Owners Invitational R&R was held at Le Meridian Beach Resort Phuket from May 24-29, and was attended by 280 delegates from 10 countries across Appco’s network.
On the shores of the Andaman Sea, this chic, beachfront resort was an idyllic location for delegates to relax, network and learn from other successful business owners while attending a number of skill-building workshops.
Helen Teh, the head of group human resource, kicked off the event with a two-day seminar discussing personal effectiveness, emotional intelligence and leadership.
James Greaves, vice president and group executive director gave an inspiring opening speech about the growth of Appco Group in Asia and exciting new projects that will open up growth opportunities across the region. Australia’s country head, Shane Ward, also delivered a motivating speech on the big three, “Environment, Opportunity and Money”.
Delegates were able to focus on more specific topics, including recruitment, handling highs and lows, and goal-setting, as they broke out into smaller groups.
The event was also one for celebration, as delegates donned their best for the gala awards dinner. Among those recognised for their achievements were Kim Yong, who was named the new organisational head for Appco Korea, and Adam Bailey, for his appointment as the new chief executive officer of Appco Group Asia. Thirty-five awards for senior team leaders were announced, as well as 15 for assistant owners, and numerous others.
On the whole, the event was packed full of rest, relaxation, networking, knowledge sharing and celebration that entrepreneurs soaked up and enjoyed.

Singtel shares “key benefits” of using direct sales

The Director of SingNet Pte Ltd (Singtel) has said Appco’s direct sales service delivers what traditional advertising cannot: personalised messaging.

“One of the key benefits of having the direct sales force is to bring [our] service to the doorstep of the customer, interact with the customer on a one-to-one basis and explain our product and services in a language that the customer understands,” She said. “Advertising and phone calls will not be able to achieve such a personalised service.”

Singtel has been in partnership with Appco Singapore for over eight years. Since 2007, Appco Singapore, through its network of independent marketing companies and independent contractors, has generated more than 300,000 customers for Singtel.

Independent contractors speak to customers on a daily basis creating an unrivalled connection with the Singtel brand and service and, therefore, securing long-term customers for them.

Globally, Appco’s proven face-to-face sales methods have seen the group deliver over US$4 billion in revenue for clients.

The Singtel Group is Asia’s leading communications group providing a diverse range of services including fixed, mobile, data, internet, TV, infocomms technology (ICT) and digital solutions.

Singtel is the first in the market to launch its 10Gbps, which is deemed to be the fastest fibre broadband experience in Singapore. SUKA Society praises Appco as “an invaluable partner”

Children’s charity SUKA Society has praised Appco Group Malaysia who have “contributed to the growth and development of the organisation”.

“As a young NGO [non-government organisation], it is important to find good partners who can contribute to the growth and development of the organisation,” said Executive Director of SUKA Society Malaysia, Anderson Selvasegaram. “Appco is an invaluable partner in our work”.

Thanks to the regular-giving donors secured by face-to-face fundraisers working with Appco Group Malaysia, SUKA society was able to develop and grow its on-going Orang Asli pre-school programme.

The project’s beneficiaries were several community pre-schools in Malaysia, and SUKA Society is a firsthand witness to the fact that empowering Orang Asli pre-school teachers to be a catalyst for education and providing the pre-schools educational tools have a profound impact on the learning experience of indigenous children in remote areas.

Appco Group Malaysia works with a network of marketing companies who in turn work with independent contractors who do face-to-face fundraising for charities such as SUKA Society. Anderson Selvasegaram describes the [face-to-face] fundraisers as “extremely competent in their work and they are able to deliver excellent results”.

Face-to-face fundraisers engage every individual in a conversation about the charity they represent and continually turn unreachable people into loyal donors. There are over 1,000 fundraisers across seven countries in the Appco Asia network – and over 3,500 fundraisers across 24 countries globally – all of whom receive on-going coaching and support in order to best represent Appco’s clients.

SUKA Society, or Persatuan Kebajikan Suara Kanak-kanak Malaysia (SUKA), is a registered non-governmental organisation set up to protect and preserve the best interests of children.
